Trishul SNMP

Async-first Python SNMP runtime: v1/v2c/v3 manager, notification send and receive, and a lightweight simulator, with optional MIB enrichment.

Capabilities

What it does

  • Read-only SNMPv1, SNMPv2c and SNMPv3 USM manager operations: GET, GETNEXT, GETBULK and walks.
  • Send and receive SNMPv1/v2c/v3 traps, v2c/v3 informs, and decode notifications offline.
  • Includes a narrow read-only SNMPv2c responder and simulator with dynamic OID values.
  • Works with numeric OIDs on its own; compiled JSON MIB bundles add symbolic names and value enrichment.

Make a read-only query

Examplepython
import asyncio
from trishul_snmp import V2cManager

async def main():
    async with V2cManager(host="YOUR_AGENT", community="YOUR_COMMUNITY") as manager:
        response = await manager.get("1.3.6.1.2.1.1.3.0")
        for item in response.varbinds:
            print(item.oid_str, item.display_value)
